BEKASI (Kemenag) --- The Ministry of Religion supports the success of the organization of people's schools which is one of the implementation of Asta Cita President Prabowo Subianto. The Ministry of Religion assigned 98 Islamic Religious Education teachers to teach in people's schools.
People's Schools are in accordance with President Prabowo's 4th Asta Cita, namely strengthening the development of human resources (HR), science, technology, education, health, achievement, sports, gender equality, as well as strengthening the role of women, youth and people with disabilities. To date, People's Schools have been held in 100 locations throughout Indonesia.
"We are working with the Head of the Provincial Ministry of Religion Regional Office to vote and recommend PAI teachers who are at the point of the location of the people's schools. In this case, the Ministry of Religion of the Regency and City is involved in choosing PAI teacher candidates in the People's School," said Director of Islamic Religious Education M. Munir when met at the activities of fostering Islamic Religious Education Teachers at People's Schools in Bekasi, Tuesday (8/20/2025).
The teachers recommended by the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion in the Province were then selected. This selection process is carried out by the assessor team.
"There is a team of assessors to select PAI teacher candidates in people's schools, involving parties from the Ministry of Religion, Ministry of Education and Center, BNPT and BKN. And Alhamdulillah, since the people's school began in mid -July, there were 98 PAI teachers elected," said M Munit.
"There should be 100 teachers, but there are two people's school points that do not need PAI teachers, because all students are Christian, namely in Biak, Numfor Papua, and South Sarmi, Papua," he continued.
Together with the subject teacher and other principals of the people, 98 PAI teachers at the SR will follow the briefing of the teacher and the Principal of Rayat in JIExpo Kemayoran on August 21-23, 2025.
"The Ministry of Religion is currently processing the proposal of 59 PAI teachers for people's schools. Because, there are additional 59 people's school points," said Munir. (HF)
